Born in Carcavelos, November 27th, 1965.

In 1988, completed his degree in Civil Engineering, Structures Area, at Instituto Superior Técnico. Has the Senior Member Professional Qualification by the Engineers Association.

Joined BETAR in 1989, being partner of Betar Estudos since 1991 and of Betar Consultores since 1998. Has been the manager of the latter since that date, and of the first since February 2001. He was founder and Managing Partner of the firm Betar Instalações Técnicas and Managing Partner of Betar Planeamento e Fiscalização. He is also manager of Geotest Consultores Geotécnicos e Estruturais.

He began his activity as a structural designer in the bridge sector in 1989, namely in projects for Bridges on the Pombal-Condeixa axis, on the North motorway. Since then, he has developed as an author, coordinator or participated as a collaborator or consultant, on Foundations and Structures projects, with special emphasis on the buildings sector, and more sporadically, on bridges and urban road tunnels.

He has been invited to present several papers in Seminars on Civil Engineering topics, and to teach, as a guest specialist, in classes in Architecture courses at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, at IST, at Universidade Lusíada and at ISCTE.

Born in Lisbon, September 28th, 1962.

In 1985, completed his degree in Civil Engineering, at Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon), in the Structures area. Has a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, since 2006. Has the Professional Qualification of Senior Member, Specialist in Structures, by the Engineers Association.

Started his professional activity as a trainee Engineer in the project sector, for the company Teixeira Duarte, gaining experience in the field of metallic structures.

In 1986, joined the staff of the company Prequipe, where he assumed the position of Responsible Engineer for the project sector.

In July 1987 joined the team at Betar – Estudos e Projectos de Estabilidade, Lda, as a Design Engineer.

In July 1989, assumed the position of Project Manager at Betar Consultores, Lda, being responsible for the coordination, direction, design and management of the project portfolio.

From January 1993 onwards, accumulates the role of Project Manager with Manager of Betar Consultores, being responsible for all projects of this company and for its various sectors, namely the financial sector.

In 1995, the company Beiratrês – Sociedade de Construção Civil e Obras Públicas, Lda was created, having been elected as manager, maintaining the position to date.

Assumed the role of General Production Director of the GOA System, in May 1997. Is responsible for supervising the development of this System and coordinating inspections, both for GOA system customers and for entities such as Municipal Councils, Concessionaires (Autoestradas do Atlântico, Vialitoral, Viaexpresso Euroscut, Aenor, Brisa) and IP.

In 1997, was elected Vice-President of the Association of Roads and Bridges (APVP), later occupying the position of President of the same Association for three consecutive years (2000 – 2003).

In 2008, the company O&C – Olive & Company, Lda is created, being elected as Manager and remaining until the present date.

In 2010, was elected as Member of the Board of Directors of the Mozambique and Portugal Chamber of Commerce (CCMP), remaining until the present date.

In 2011, was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company MZ-Betar – Engenheiros e Consultores, Lda, holding that position until now.

In 2016, was elected Vice-President of the Executive Committee of the CPLP Business Confederation, having chaired the 1st Economic Conference of the CPLP Market, held in Maputo, Mozambique, in 2018.

In 2020, is appointed Manager of the company Aromas do Mondego – Quinta de São Lourenço, Lda, remaining until the present date.

It should also be noted that, thanks to his vast experience in the rehabilitation and reinforcement of Bridges, has already presented articles at several conferences, including the Luso-Mozambican Journeys on Roads and Bridges Engineering, National Meeting of Metallic and Mixed Construction, or IABMAS – First International Conference on Bridge Maintenance, Safety and Management.

Began his activity as a structural designer in the bridge sector in 1987, namely in Bridges projects on the Santarém-Torres Novas of the North Motorway, having also collaborated in the project of bridges in the section of Telheiras on the North-South road axis.

Since 1988, has been developing foundation and structural projects in the building sector. In addition to the Technical Assistance of the various projects for the work that he has been providing continuously, he has also performed several jobs as technical director of construction works and inspections.

In addition to his activity as a Structural Designer, he has been coordinating the various Engineering projects in several Projects, both in the Building and Infrastructure areas, in close collaboration with the architects of the projects.

It should also be noted that his vast experience in the sector led to the presentation of various communications at Seminars in the field of Civil Engineering.
