Betar is proud to have the Vasco da Gama Bridge among the structures managed using our GOA Bridge Management System, visited regularly by our teams of inspectors.
With 12.3 km in length, plus 4.8 km in approach structures, this emblematic bridge – the longest in the European Union – is divided into 65 structures that have been the target of more than 600 inspections carried out by our teams.
The monitoring of this unique bridge includes the use of different access equipment and observation tools to inspect not only its structure but also installed equipment, including anti-seismic devices, expansion joints, stay cables, bearings and wind deflectors, among others.
