The modernization of António Damásio High School includes the construction of three new buildings, the refitting and seismic strengthening of the existing buildings structures and landscaping of the entire surroundings.

The main building is a 70's construction. Walls strengthen of the existing cores in the main building was carried out by adding external steel plates.

The extension of the main building consists of the expansion of the existing construction to the west, by building a new structural entity. The adopted structures are similar, thus ensuring the continuity of the old building and the uniformity of the structural behavior.

The new gym is a distinct entity, adjacent to the existing gym by the East-South side, but separated from it by a movement joint, with the connection between the old and new foundations.

This intervention received an honorable mention from the Prémio Valmor de Arquitectura of 2011.
